A rash can be defined as eruptions on the surface of the skin. Often the rash becomes itchy, red and inflamed. A rash can occur due to a disease like chicken pox, insect bite or a severe allergic reaction. Skin friction and abrasion as in the case of diaper rash is also fairly common.

Home Remedies For Skin Rashes
Cucumber as well all know soothes and cools the skin. It is a great antidote for itching and redness on the surface of the skin. Peel and grind some cucumbers in the mixer and extract its pulp.
Chill the pulp in the fridge for a few hours. Now apply this pulp on the affected area of the rash. It will immediately subside the itching and give you relief. Keep applying throughout the day.
An oatmeal bath is a great home remedy for skin rashes. Take 2 huge cups of oatmeal and put it in your bath water or tub. Now soak in this bath for a few minutes. The oatmeal softens the skin and reduces skin irritation and inflammation.
The plant Aloe Vera has several medicinal properties and has been found to be effective in treating a number of skin related disorders. Extract the pulp of an Aloe Vera plant. Make sure the pulp is absolutely fresh.
Apply liberally on your rash or affected areas of the skin. If pure pulp is not available, you can get pure aloe vera gel from the market and use this on your skin.
Make an infusion of chamomile tea and chill it in the fridge for a few hours. Now take a clean wash cloth and dab the chilled infusion on the itchy areas of your rash. Chamomile soothes highly inflamed and irritated skin.
There may be times when your skin becomes excessively dry especially after a rash has begun to heal. In such cases, it is best to apply olive oil on the affected area of the skin.
Just dab on the olive oil and massage the particular area of the skin with the oil. This will leave the skin silky smooth.
Try cold compresses and ice therapy to heal and soothe rashes. In fact once the eczema appears, apply ice immediately to prevent the skin from erupting into welts. Ice also numbs the area and reduces swelling and itching. Keep applying ice and cold compresses every 1 hour.
One of the best creams that you can use for any skin rash or allergy is lacto calamine which is available OTC at any chemist.Lacto calamine is particularly helpful in skin healing and prevents the formation of scars especially after a very severe bout of measles or chicken pox.
