The problem of extremely dry hair worsens as winters begin to approach. Hot oil massage therapy, which was quite effective during summers, also fails to soothe extremely dry hair and they become quite unmanageable. The expensive bottles of conditioners making big promises also fail to deliver results when it becomes quite cold and dry.
So, does this mean that you will have to compromise with your antenna like hair or there is some way out? Well, you can heave a sigh of relief as there are some homemade conditioners which are extremely effective on dry and frizzy hair and which can help you in flaunting smooth and silky hair even in the dead of winter.
Homemade Conditioners for Extremely Dry Hair
Mayonnaise and Avocado
Take a tablespoon of mayonnaise. Both eggless and egg mayonnaise work well for dry hair. Mash half avocado in the mayo and form a smooth paste. Apply this conditioner on damp hair. Start from the ends and work your way up. Pay more attention on the ends rather than the roots.
You can also comb your hair with a wide tooth comb after applying the conditioner thoroughly. This will make it messy but it will also ensure even distribution of the conditioner on your entire hair.
Wear a plastic bag or shower cap on the hair and then wrap your hair with a warm towel for best results. You can also sit in sun with this conditioner on your hair for some time. Wash off with shampoo and conditioner as usual.
Yogurt and Egg
Take a cup of thick yogurt. You can also hang curd in a muslin cloth to extract water and make it thick. Beat two egg yolks in the yogurt. Apply this conditioner on your hair. Sit for half an hour in sun and wash off with shampoo. You can also apply your regular conditioner.
Olive Oil Conditioner
Take a cup of olive oil and mash a ripe avocado in it. Now, add two mashed bananas in the mix to form a smooth consistency. Apply it on damp hair and wrap a hot towel around your hair for some time. Wash off with shampoo and apply regular conditioner.
Hibiscus Flowers Conditioners
Take a handful of hibiscus flowers and its leaves. Grind them in a mixer and make a smooth gel. After shampooing your hair use this gel as a conditioner on your hair. Let it stay on your hair for 15 minutes and then wash off with plain water.
Aloe Vera Gel
Take some fresh aloe vera leaves and grind them in a mixer. Use this mix on your hair as a conditioner after shampooing your hair. Aloe gel is odorless so you can quickly use it on the day when you have to give your presentation to the new client without any apprehension and can make a good impact with your good looks and nice presentation!
These hair conditioners work from outside but for hydrating your hair from inside, drink lots of water throughout the day. During winters, drink warm water and instead of diuretics like tea, coffee and alcohol, focus on drinking hydrating things like soups, juices, lemon water, coconut water, etc.
