Dark circles under the eyes are a common problem that a number of men and women around the world complain of. Caused by factors like hormonal changes, unhealthy lifestyle, genetics, stress and insufficient sleep, these pigmented shadows under the eyes can make your face look extremely dull and tired. Intake of too much salt, caffeine and alcohol can often aggravate the problem. One of the ways in which you can hide these ugly under eye circles is by using makeup.
Makeup Tips To Conceal Dark Circles
Choose A Concealer
Concealers are makeup products that help you hide your facial imperfections in a jiffy. For hiding the dark shadows under your eyes you will need a thick, creamy liquid under eye concealer. The creamy formula glides over the thin skin under the eyes and does not settle into lines.
If the dark circles are brownish or yellowish tinged then opt for peachy concealer shades. For bluish tinged dark circles the ideal shade would be a yellow colored concealer.
When choosing the best concealer for dark circles it is important to take into account your skin tone. A concealer which is very different from your skin tone can look extremely weird and out of place. In addition to the concealer you will also need a translucent powder and a face primer.
Use a concealer brush or your fingers to apply a little concealer under your eyes. Apply it evenly on the dark circles and blend properly so that the dark shadows are completely concealed. Do not forget the innermost corner of your eyes just next to the nose as the under eye circles tend to be the darkest in that area.
It is important to use small amounts of concealer as too much of it can look cakey and odd. Before using a concealer you can use a face primer. These makeup products allow the makeup to stay on for a longer time and prevent creasing as well.
Use Translucent Powder
Finish off your concealer makeup by applying some translucent powder on top. Use a powder brush or just dip a sponge in the translucent powder and apply it on the areas that you have applied the concealer.
If the concealer you are using to hide your dark circles is different then your skin tone then use a shade of concealer which is similar to your skin tones over it.
Once you are done with applying the concealer, apply some foundation as well and make sure you blend well. Apply light or neutral eye makeup to make your eyes look more vibrant and use two coats of mascara on the top lashes only.
Dark black or brown eyeliner on the top lash line can draw attention away from your dark circles. While these simple makeup tips can help you hide your dark circles temporarily they cannot remove them completely. So eat healthy and use aloe vera or cucumber slices on your eyes to remove the ugly under eye circles.
