Exfoliating and scrubbing your skin will remove all the dead skin and will also reduce the dryness. But do make sue to use scrubs that don’t increase your dryness.
Some homemade ones that you can use to reduce the dryness are gram flour, turmeric and cream, orange peel powder and cream, almond paste and honey, Using face masks like mashed banana/papaya and milk, a well beaten egg yolk or even plain and simple layer of cream taken from the milk also provide the required hydration to the skin. You may even massage your face with a little sweet almond oil to reduce the flakiness.
Always keep your skin moisturized. Use two different moisturizers. One for the day and one for the night. Keep the morning one lighter and choose one that does not have any chemicals, extra perfume or added colors to it.
For the night cream let it be a heavier one (for it to penetrate deep into your skin and hydrate it better). Also when you apply your creams and moisturizers concentrate on the driest parts more.

Also increase your intake of nuts and fish (or even fish oil capsules, cod liver oil etc) as well. Animal fats don’t help much in increasing the skin hydration but the above mentioned ones do.
