Acne is one of the most common skin problems that affect people as they grow and their skin starts maturing.  Though it is a very common problem among teenagers, it usually affects one who has oily skin. But that does not mean that acne cannot occur to people with dry skin! It does and the problem worsens as any treatment for acne can make the skin drier and if one resorts to treatment for dry skin then the acne breakouts become more and more severe.

In such conditions, one must resort to proper skin care routine for dry acne skin that will help in minimizing the problem and eliminate acne and pimples.

Dry Acne Prone Skin Care Routine

Dry acne skin is not a very common problem but it can be severe and proper care is required to treat it effectively.

Application of the correct moisturizer is important and it also ensures that at all times the skin is moisturized. The best moisturizer for dry and acne prone skin is the one with anti-bacterial ingredients and no oil.

Also, moisturizers with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid are very good and effective in cleaning the skin and keeping it clear off acne and pimples. Additionally, check for moisturizer that is non-comedogenic as it helps in getting rid of acne very effectively.

Hydrating Oil

Castor Oil

It is important to cleanse the skin with castor oil or any other hydrating oils on a regular basis. A tablespoon of castor oil can be gently rubbed onto the skin with finger tips while making circular movements. This allows the oil to enter the pores of the skin and flush out the bacteria inside the skin pores.

Once you have massaged the oil, use steam of boiling water to billow over the face for a few minutes. Next, wipe the oil off with a wet cloth. Doing this twice on a regular basis, allows you to eliminate dry acne skin problems.

Oil that helps in eliminating acne problems without drying the skin is tea tree oil. All you need to do is to dilute the mixture and apply it on the face with a cotton swab. Use of diluted tea tree oil on a daily basis helps in reducing acne breakouts.

Room Vaporizer

Room Vaporizer

Acne occurs when the skin lacks moisture; hence, use a vaporizer to ensure that the skin is hydrated and acne breakouts are eliminated. Also, keep your body hydrated by drinking enough water to prevent dryness of skin from inside.

Face Scrub

Face Scrub

Though one should not scrub on a regular basis, using a natural exfoliating scrub will allow you to get rid of the pore-clogging dead skin that leads to acne. Natural ingredients are the best bet and to make a perfect mixture, blend a tablespoons of baking soda with a tablespoon of raw oats and two tablespoon of honey.

Apply this mixture onto the face and rub it around gently. Once the scrub dissolves into the skin, rinse it off with warm water. Doing this at least thrice a week removes dead skin cells and impurities without drying the skin.
